Our Evolution of Steel

We used these pretty regularly in the beginning the All American mushroom sterilizers. It could fit roughly 6 x 4 lb bags of grain and required burners and fuel to run. It's been fitted with a control valve rather than a 5,10 and 15 lb regulator. This is not recommended for canning and uses a small amount of water to operate. At our peak we had 6 of these running sometimes twice a day. Most mycology beginners should start by running and familiarizing themselves with this particular machine. It does and will perform constantly as long as the steel is cleaned and well maintained. 

Another big step up from the 1925, we didn't come across many other pieces of equipment that could compare to the results out of these pots. The Presto canner and its rubber seal was not an adequate replacement. We saw many poor results when using those and constantly blew out and ruined the seal. Simply put nothing else can hold up to 18psi (Bowles Law) at elevation that was necessary to get true sterilization and contamination penetration like the All Americans can. Fitted with a control valve rather than a regulator and add another set of burners and a whole lot of new propane tanks entered our production picture. At a much larger diameter and depth we could fit, 9 x 4 lb bags of grains. Great, but laborious and hot. The BTU at this point was heating our warehouse all winter and keeping us sweating all summer. Fast forward to meeting Extraction Tek Stainless aka ETS and their mycology department. 

The ISS350 is designed to safely process fast, reliable, and sterile mushroom cultivation substrates.  It has a 350 liter material capacity, we fit 120 x 4lb bags 

(480 lbs) of grain per run with room to add more. After a few thousand bags of grains and liquid culture jars our success with this technology is astounding.  There is no hose hook up or float valve, which in our opinion is a huge leap. Basically, it runs and acts like a larger All American Sterilizer,

Easy and safe to move around our facility. One or two operators can manage the ISS 350. Powering it up requires a few adjustments and we suggest talking to ETS directly for those specs. We run two machines and currently after 90 days our electric bill has remained the same. We have stopped running around for propane and dealing with a bunch of excess heat. Lastly, anything manufactured and stamped by Extraction Techonlogy's stainless steel is above and beyond high performance.
